WebNov 14, 2004 · My understanding is that most synthetics gear oils you don't need to add an additive. If you go to the dealer just ask for LS friction modifier. I use Coastal 80w90 1.38 a qt with the L/S additive around 5 bucks a tube. Shell and Chevron make diff oil with the additive included.
